This course is an Introduction to Linguistics and its subfields: Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Textual Analysis (textual Linguistics).
It is divided into 8 lessons.
Who should take this course?
This course "Study of Linguistics and Semantics" is addressed to all students who have already come across to Linguistics and its subfields.
By following this course they can deepen their knowledge about all that is concerned with language such as the change of meaning, the word-formation, the function of sentence, the rethorical figures, for instance, the metaphor and its functions.
Some discussions on certain topics will surely be useful to them to enrich the lexical vocabulary and grasp the mechanism that rules the language itself.

Understand the basic concepts and terminology of 'linguistics'.
- Gain familiarity with a variety of phenomena in English and other languages.
- Appreciate the way of analysing a poem, a critical essay, a piece of narrative passage.
- Appreciate the usage of figurative language (metaphor, simile, connotation, denotation, etc.)
The course is divided into 8 lessons to be taught in 8 weeks.
Every week includes one lesson which last 4 hours. (the entire course comprise 32 hours). It will take place inside the Ivocalize classroom a virtual classroom where a teacher will speak lively with the student and all the lessons can be recorded.
The course costs 70 euros including the material, that is, 85 American dollars.
